Pediatric and Neonatal are specialist area’s in the hospital caring for smaller patients. Due to the sensitivity of these children and babies they need to be placed in wards with specialist educated clinicians and nurses.
Neonatal care is care of newly born babies. Often, but not always preborn, and they end up in a neonatal ward, due to the fact that they need more and less full support in their start of life. It could be matters such as low blood sugar, hemorrhage, prematurity, infections and much more. Often these premature babies are in an incubator or heated beds as they have difficulties in keeping body temperature.
They often need CPAP, oxygen, extra warmth and humidity.
Pharma Systems have special passive humidifiers and bacterial/viral filters designed for smaller patients. Important features here are low weight, minimal dead space and low resistance to flow. We offer both in line products as well as HME’s for spontaneously breathing such as the Pharma Trach group.
